Tw@t was at a wedding the evening of the mini cider cup so had asked Fluffy to fill in for the captaincy duties!
A 3 hour happy hour was on offer so most people had turned up promptly to take advantage of the offer!
The Players
15 players were in attendance which made it a little awkward but after several suggestions we decided to draw names out on the 7 man team to play in spare position!
The toss of the coin went to Fluffy which gave him the all important first pick!
The Teams
The Extra Man
Fluffy had now numbered all of Tony's squad 1 - 7 so that we could determine who would play twice in the singles, double and fours!
Fours - Linx
Doubles - Hidesy
Singles - Linx
Not too bad for Tony's team in deed. He was quite happy with the extra man in each and felt he was slightly favourite!!!!!
The Draw
The fours were picked and could go either way. They looked fairly even and it would all come down to hitting the double, hey Tony!
The doubles next and I feel this is where we got some of it wrong (apart from picking Chillo)! The pairs looked even enough to be fair so we should have a good match lined up so far.
The singles next and again I feel the Captain got this wrong (apart from picking Chillo)! Wasting himself against Fluffy and expecting Chillo to beat Gemma was in hindsight a little too optimistic!
The Cob
I was asking Fluffy for the two weeks leading up to the event if I need to bring my darts along! He said that you all have to use the clubs darts so that it makes it more interesting! "ARE YOU SURE MATE?" - "Yes for Fcuk sake Lincoln, you can't use your own darts!" "Ok Fluffy, just wanted to be sure."
Before we started I asked Wally what darts he had in the tin to use and everyone said they are using their own, that's what we did last time!!!
Brilliant I thought! No wonder he didn't pick me then!
I must have sulked for only a couple of days from then till after the event so I think I took it rather well!
The Result
Final score going into the quiz was 10 - 4 to Fluffy (TW@T)
The result was somewhat disappointing if you were on Tony's team! All the matches seemed fairly even apart from:
The doubles,
Hooky vs Me,
Stridey vs Tyler
Gottsy vs Yiddo
Hos vs Oz
and of course Gemma vs Chillo
The game of the night
Best match by far (to watch) was Gemma vs Chillo. If he looks nervous playing on a Friday in the summer league then that was nothing compared to how unsteady his arm was! He was first to get away and probably had 15-21 darts start on Gemma which meant she was trailing by around 75 points at this stage! He also got down to the double first and had 15-21 darts to win the league and get us winning again as we were currently 5 - 1 down from the fours and doubles!
Eventually after wasting so many darts at the double he finally managed to . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . lose the leg! The roof nearly came off and I'm talking about both teams supporters as it was bl00dy brilliant! Well done to you Gemma x

With a 6 point deficit to claw back it looked almost impossible for our team to pull themselves out of this! But with Wally not knowing any of the answers and Kevin sneaking into our team he wasn't so sure! The quiz finished 21 points to 20 points in favour of Tony's team so I make the final result 1 - 1 but according to the official rules it was a 5 point massacre by Fluffy's team!

Gemma! She scored 100+ in all her three matches including a bull in each of those scores and beat Chillo!
Worst performing dart player
Yiddo! He knows that he's rubbish and he did lose to Gottsy! Obviously it would have been Chillo but the award had "dart player" in the title.
Biggest Cob on during the night
Wally! Despite my reaction to people using their own darts at the start of the night it still goes to Wally. When we had to chase a 6 points gap in a 25 point quiz we noticed Kevin and his Wife turn up for a drink and poached them to play in our team! After much debating Fluffy's team allowed this, or so we thought! When Kevin was conferring for a question Wally had had enough and ordered Kevin to leave if he couldn't keep quiet!

Summary
It was an absolutely brilliant even being part of a losing team. Well done to Wally for the 3 hour happy hour and putting the event in motion. Thanks to all that turned up (apart from Chillo) and lets hope we can have another one very soon so I can bring my own darts along!
