POT BLACK A Vs EX SERVICEMANS ? (COULD BE ANY LETTER IN THIS SLOT)

It's me the weekend sportsman again!! This is because Captain Cob decided to have another week off darts, he said he was ill, my sources told me this was a lie but I gave him the benefit of the doubt! That was until they proved to me that he was really the new model for speedo swimwear and he was away in Benidorm doing a shoot for their new range.

Any way we won easily but not gonna bother putting the score down as I got it wrong last time and I can't remember much because I was pissed, at least i was taking it easy because I had to work on sat!!!!!!!

Because of this memory lapse I'll look forward to the future as this week there are two vital sporting event's. 1st is the big match up against the mighty ex servicemans hg! It's gonna be a tough game so lets hope all goes well for Craigo's Barmy Army and we can open up a 3 point lead at the top!

Also I am 1 game away from an appearance in sunday's scratch snooker finals night, can I make it to a semi final dual against Rocket Robert Cooper(watch this space!!).

Thanks all,

TOP-TWO-SPOT- FOR THE SUPER 'B' TEAM?

THE LEGEND(MOTHER TERESSA) & FESTER (GALLY) AFTER ANOTHER WIN IN THE DOUBLES!

Its been an interesting couple of weeks with two difficult matches, away to the ex servicemens a followed by a home game to the hearts of oak.

The first match started well with some well contested doubles games setting us up for nicely for the singles. Some good singles games set us up with a chance of the win, with yours truly playing my best game of the season hitting back to back 140’s and an 81 finish! (I know, must have been drunk). It was left to the last three players to convert the six games we had won into a victory. The first of these was a tough game for The Legend (Trev Gooch)facing Jason Cains. It came down to nerve and Trev proved he could hold his better(nerve that is!), keeping his head to win the game and match after several darts at a double. With the pressure gone, we lost the last games, to give us a seven-five win and another excellent visit to the ex servicemens club.

Last week saw us at home to the hearts of oak and facing another tough match. A good start from Hos and Quiff with the latter joining this years 180 club before Hos hit the winning double. Some tight games followed and we found ourselves 5-4 down and needing the last three games for a another unexpected win. Our guys responded in fine style with Shoot em up and Bungle both winning to leave it all down to Ozzie on last, for the match! With another solid game, holding his nerve completely,(pretty good as he was on last having not played doubles), Oz saw the game out, for another excellent win(OR IS IT?).

On to this week and it just doesn’t seem to get any easier, with another difficult away game to the marquis of lorne. We started out of the blocks well, with Ozzie taking out a 91 finish to win us the opening doubles, followed after by a solid win for Hos and Quiff and another good game and finally a tense finish won by Billy (man of a thousand nick-names) Bennett and the Legend who is now known as Mother Gooch. We were 3-0 up, an excellent start, before they finally got one back with the best game of their night so far, against Fester and the Yid.

The opening singles saw Moysie struggling with his game a bit and losing the first game before Ozzie won a tight game to get us two games ahead again. The next game saw Bungle (I can't believe I've got Mick Wooltorton again I always play him and I've never beaten him why do I always get him, cry, cry,), beat Mick Wooltorton (???) to take us to 5-2. We then hit a bad patch with Paul (Lurch) Tyler losing to a very good game, Trev (Mother Theresa) showing the benevolent side of his nature and Dave (Shoot em up) Stride getting shot down.

5-all and next up was Hos against Soz. A good game with ever mounting tension which Hos managed to take on a double. 6-5 and a chance for the Captain to show if had any bottle. A tight last game against Flash and I managed to hold my nerve and hit double eight.

Another incredible win in the strange season of the Potty B Team and the points keep mounting. Talk is now turning to the dizzy heights of playing in Europe (but personally I quite enjoyed this years day out in Yarmouth).

Home next week against the Working Mens Club, lets see if we can keep it going.

Well done lads

(Even the A side are showing a hint of amazement when they are told of another excellent score line in the club afterwards!)

A Vs Ksscsccsssc A

The clubs most respected member has been appointed as blog writer this week with Ryan 'the cob' Lincoln away in Egypt not visiting the pyramids, what a responsibility for someone who hasn't remembered a Friday night for 8 years, I'll just try my best and pop a couple of lies in!! ha ha.
I think the score was 9-3 to the mighty Pot Black and I think I won my single's? on 2nd thought's no I didn't but the other guy was brilliant? oh actually he wasn't. Well done to the boy's. I had a quiet one as I had to work? oh no I didn't went out till 2 and drunk all night, very grown up!
Speaking of grown up! Gary 'dad of the year, extreme foam' Flatt not only got very drunk on Friday and chucked my pizza out of the car window but also text me at 2.30 on monday morning explaining how proud he was to still be out drinking from sundays golf day and Peter Wright's wedding reception. mmmmmmm! well done!
Other events were as follows-Gotts free cabs did not let us down, Craig 'skipper' Harrod and Kelvin 'splat' Self joined me in loser's corner, Matt'one size fit's all' Hook didn't hit a 180! (oh yeah he was in Dublin), me and Craig 'smasher' George had our usual friday night discussion (can't wait till this week!), and fun was had by all!
Finally a little well done to Tony 'the quiff' Atkinson on winning his first cyder cup! unfortunately I was on wally's losing side but have to take no responsibility what so ever because I won both my games (I'm the best in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

......"THE BEST PERFORMANCE EVER"

Hi Guys

I know it has been a while since you heard from me but I have been having a lazy break in the Canary Islands. The night before I went I knew there would not be much to report as we were away to the world famous Ex Servicemens HG and were bound to get the usual thumping. WRONG! God only knows what happened but on a night which saw the greatest giant killing upset since David beat Goliath, Andy Murray beat Rafael Nadal and Norwich City beat....well anyone really, the Potty B Team did themselves proud and won the match!. Not only did we win, but we won 8-4 after going 3-1 up in the doubles AND having darts to win the other game! We managed to keep it going through the singles for the best performance ever by the B Team. Well done lads. I would just like to take this opportunity to thank the boys from the A Team for their belief and support on the way to this victory. At 6-3 up I sent a text to advise them of the situation and, as you would expect received great words of encouragement. Not just the usual “well done”” or “keep it going” but their own special praise “can you send me a photograph of the scorecard because we don’t believe you”! Cheers lads!

In light of this great achievement I tried to report in from abroad but by the miracle of modern science and technology (coupled with my inexperience of internet cafes and lots of San Miguel) I am afraid I could not get the message sent.

While I was away, the team kept the great run going with a fine victory over the Queens Head before our run of four (yes four) straight wins was ended, not surprisingly by our A Team. (The Home Guard heard we were losing and asked for a copy of the scorecard because they didn’t believe it).

This brings us up to last Friday and a home game against the football club. To say the standard wasn’t great is being kind but given the way the darts went from both sides the final result of 6-6 was probably fair. Special mention to Paul Tyler who played a great game and we are now looking forward to Friday. Regular readers wishing to know where we are playing please think back to an earlier report – if we haven’t played the Ex Servicemens for a couple of weeks they are probably next! This time we are away to the “C” team.

See you soon

THE BIG ONE A V'S B

(Gottsfreecabs) - how does he drive with just a head?

What a match up! The Pot Black legends vs. the EX Serv HG destroyers.

Predictable result though! 10 - 2 to the 'A' team and Danny only let Shaun win as he was getting slightly agitated with the excess noise from Fluffy and PH.

Oh sorry! My mistake, Hud (Paul) wasn't with us this evening, which was good in one sense as he would have been my doubles partner!!! Not for the first time this year, Hud had left us to spend a night with his work colleague, Becky (The one he's apparently not interested in) at Boogie Nights! Not sure on all the details yet, but you could ask DG (Gottsfreecabs.com) as he went to pick them up about 03:00 in the morning!

Nice to see some other faces out that evening. Mr Chillingworth (Fisherman), Vinyl (Nick Marsham), and Vinyl's mate 'Crazy Drinker'! Crazy drinker looked drunk at about 22:00 that evening but was the only one still drinking at 02:30 in the morning round Vinyl's, very impressive indeed!!!

Sorry for the delay guys!

A-Team 19/9/08

Got a draw with the Ole Frank! Brilliant!

Matt was on last and even got beat with his 100th 180 of the season! Thanks for playing Kelvin.

Slipped up after the B-Team gave us a helping hand, typical!

SORRY!!!!!!

As you all know this friday I went out with the people from work and missed my 2nd darts match of the season (no 'Tony the quiff' Atkinson did not pay me off to increase the B teams chances) as usual it has taken me a couple of weeks longer than everyone else to realise I am being a bit of a d**k and I feel an apology is in order as I missed Gary 'fluffy' Flatts wet the baby's head night, sorry mate and congratulations as i wasn't there i'm sure you then got promoted to number 1 t**t for the night and that is a title I wouldn't wish on anyone, being the reigning champ in this area, I should know what its like. Just to cheer you all up I can confirm that on this evening I began drinking at an exceptionally late 8.15 (usually on my 6th) no fun was had (adult behaviour), at no point could I let out the trademark laugh (very out of character) I didn't make a fool of myself or lose any money at silly pub games, overall I wasn't loving it and I'm sure you all had a better night than me as you lot probably could not stop laughing at my expense. Well played guys a good win against the Homeguard slayers and i will be back next week to have the p*ss taken out me on a regular basis, and will be seen at the bar at 7-12pm for the rest of the season.
