......"THE BEST PERFORMANCE EVER"

Hi Guys

I know it has been a while since you heard from me but I have been having a lazy break in the Canary Islands. The night before I went I knew there would not be much to report as we were away to the world famous Ex Servicemens HG and were bound to get the usual thumping. WRONG! God only knows what happened but on a night which saw the greatest giant killing upset since David beat Goliath, Andy Murray beat Rafael Nadal and Norwich City beat....well anyone really, the Potty B Team did themselves proud and won the match!. Not only did we win, but we won 8-4 after going 3-1 up in the doubles AND having darts to win the other game! We managed to keep it going through the singles for the best performance ever by the B Team. Well done lads. I would just like to take this opportunity to thank the boys from the A Team for their belief and support on the way to this victory. At 6-3 up I sent a text to advise them of the situation and, as you would expect received great words of encouragement. Not just the usual “well done”” or “keep it going” but their own special praise “can you send me a photograph of the scorecard because we don’t believe you”! Cheers lads!

In light of this great achievement I tried to report in from abroad but by the miracle of modern science and technology (coupled with my inexperience of internet cafes and lots of San Miguel) I am afraid I could not get the message sent.

While I was away, the team kept the great run going with a fine victory over the Queens Head before our run of four (yes four) straight wins was ended, not surprisingly by our A Team. (The Home Guard heard we were losing and asked for a copy of the scorecard because they didn’t believe it).

This brings us up to last Friday and a home game against the football club. To say the standard wasn’t great is being kind but given the way the darts went from both sides the final result of 6-6 was probably fair. Special mention to Paul Tyler who played a great game and we are now looking forward to Friday. Regular readers wishing to know where we are playing please think back to an earlier report – if we haven’t played the Ex Servicemens for a couple of weeks they are probably next! This time we are away to the “C” team.

See you soon
