B-TEAM WRITE UP

Hi darts fans its Captain Long John here with an update from our latest game. Friday saw us entertain the Ex Servs B (astute readers will notice i had suggested we were away to the D, i blame the drugs!). The game started with an opening doubles from our dream team of Bungle and Mother Gooch (or should that be Mother Magoo after Trev revealed he was seriously visually challenged just before the game). In their pre game team talk they discussed the tactics for the night and decided to play really well down the board to give themselves enough time to still win if they couldn't get near hitting the finishing double. This tactic has worked for them before and proved to be right again on Friday as a very good scoring game was followed by about 20 darts at a double before finally getting us to 1 up. This was followed by Moysie and Paul Tyler getting us to 2-0 with a first dart finish. Next up were Ozzie and Shoot em up with a bit of an up and down game and Dave showing us a new way to go for 122, (how many of you would start with a treble 13) but recovered superbly to leave 36 which Oz hit straight away for 3 up. The last pair were Hos and Wally, the latter making a rare appearance in two games in one night after more practice darts than the entire A Team put together! After a slow start (was Wally upset that they got his name wrong in the paper for his high score during his win last week, assuming he must be related to Les and Glynn WHALL) the game got going but not without controversy. Our chalker accused of not telling the opponents when they had hit the starting double (mind you Oz, where was the caller). They recovered quickly enough and won the game to get it back to 3-1. It was soon 3-2 as Moysie lost the opening singles but we then won three on the spin with Mother Gooch (its a waste of time me playing twice in one night as i only ever play well once) playing his second good game of the night and finishing 1st dart. This was followed by Oz proving my theory about watching him as he was great to start (while i was out having a fag) and then went to rat shit when i came back in but somehow holding on for a win. Next up was Shoot em up, well i did say on the spin and there it was after another 1 dart finish. Hos was next but was well beaten by a good opponent as was Wally 2 games later. Between these was another fine game from Lurch Tyler with a superb 96 finish getting us the win. Last on was Bungle but i missed it and only have the comments on my notes to go by. Three words "F%!?ing, Brill and Tw@. Ill let the reader decide which appears most likely! A fine 8-4 win another two points and we're still going strong. Next week we are away to the KSCSSCSCSSSC (oh you know who i mean)

See you soon
